Pro Bac is a probiotic energy and protein supplement which helps the establishment of beneficial bacteria in the gut of bucket reared calves, aiding digestion and growth. The Lactobacillus it contains will help defend the gut from harmful invaders and promote an effective immune response in the calf’s intestine. Dextrose and Glycine promote the release of energy by enhancing the metabolism of sugars and fats.
When to use Pro BAC:
Give to calves routinely during the rearing process, or as needed after purchase or recovery from ill-health.
What is in Pro BAC:
Yeast Each 450g sachet of Pro Cud contains 45g of s.cerevisiase yeast, pill-dried to give enhanced stability and activity. Top quality live yeast promotes the growth of lactate-utilising bacteria, restoring a normal rumen pH.
Dextrose Easily absorbed sugar to feed and repopulate rumen microbes
Sodium Bicarbonate 150g per sachet which neutralises acid to restore pH to normal levels.
Milk Powder A high quality protein source to provide a food source for beneficial bacteria.
Ginger Promotes salivation and cudding to help regain normal rumen function.
How to administer Pro BAC:
Calves One sachet dissolved in lukewarm water as a drench.
Can be added to milk or sprinkled on food.
